Care Instructions
Cleaning
Cleaning TuffSkin is easy. Use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner (e.g., soapy water or regular window cleaner). Never use abrasive products such as scouring powder, steel wool, or sharp objects like razors on the surface.
How to extend the lifespan
TuffSkin is extremely durable, but to keep the surface in like-new condition, we recommend the following:
- Use a cutting board:
Avoid cutting or chopping directly on the protected surface. - Use coasters and pads:
Place felt pads under heavy or sharp decorative items. Use glass and pot coasters to prevent unnecessary wear. - Handle ceramics with care:
The bottoms of ceramic dishes and plates can be rough and may cause scratches if handled carelessly.
Warranty Information
Our 10-Year Warranty
The warranty is valid from the installation date for all indoor
installations in private homes, hotels, and commercial environments.
Performance Warranty
We guarantee that the protected surface is fully protected against etching and stains from acids, alkaline substances, water, and oil for 10 years.
Product Warranty
We guarantee that the TuffSkin film will not yellow or blister for a period of 10 years.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by external factors,
such as scratches or if someone has intentionally
or unintentionally scratched or peeled off the film.
Expected Lifespan and Important Conditions
Aesthetic Lifespan
TuffSkin is designed to be replaceable.
The protective function lasts at least 10 years,
but the aesthetic appearance is affected by how the surface is used.
Over time, normal wear and minor scratches may lead to replacing the protection
for cosmetic reasons. This is comparable to how an unprotected stone
surface eventually needs to be refinished.
Based on experience, we observe the following replacement patterns:
Restaurant & Bar
3–7 years
Hotel
5–8 years
Private Residence
10+ years
Outdoor Use
Due to varying weather conditions, we cannot provide the
same warranty for outdoor installations. The lifespan ranges from
about 1–2 years in direct sunlight to 3+ years under a roof.
For outdoor installations, we recommend an annual
inspection to ensure functionality and condition.
Important Information About Removal
Do not attempt to remove the protective film yourself.
TuffSkin is designed to stay firmly in place. Damage caused by picking at or tearing off the film is not covered by the warranty.
TuffSkin must only be removed by a certified technician.
If anyone else removes the film, the warranty becomes void, and that person is responsible for any potential damage to the stone.

Warranty Claims
If you believe the product has a defect covered by the warranty, a claim should be submitted via the TuffSkin website (Note: This process is unclear—please review the entire page carefully). The claim must include a copy of the original invoice and photos clearly showing the issue. If the defect is approved under the warranty, we will remove the defective film and replace it with a new one at no cost. For projects located far outside our normal service areas, travel expenses for the technician may apply.
