Preparations and Environment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The surface to be protected is meticulously cleaned in several steps. The installation takes place in as clean and dust-free an environment as possible. Despite this, occasional microscopic dust particles may become trapped under the film, which is normal and does not affect the protection\u2019s function.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Existing Damage and Surface Irregularities in the Stone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TuffSkin protects the stone but is not a product for repairing existing damage. It usually conceals minor, superficial etching but not deeper chips, cracks, or discolorations. Any repairs to the stone should be carried out by a stone specialist before installing TuffSkin.

For maximum durability and to prevent edges from peeling, TuffSkin is applied only to the flat surface and is cut with high precision just before a joint or a polished edge.
